But there is one thing that you should keep in mind – having your device on Motorola’s list does not guarantee that you will get the update right away.

Motorola’s Android 17 rollout has moved surprisingly quickly this year. After Google’s Android 17 release, Motorola began expanding its beta program across several devices before moving toward stable releases.

That means the question is no longer simply whether Motorola will update its phones to Android 17. For many owners, the bigger question is when their particular phone will receive it.

In addition, the Edge range has been extensively used in Motorola’s Android 17 Beta testing, where devices such as the Edge 70, Edge 70 Fusion, Edge 70 Pro, and Edge 60 Pro have been seen taking part in the testing process, allowing Motorola to identify bugs before the release of the stable version.
Another phone that is still missing from the list is the Edge 60 Neo. This particular model is worth mentioning due to its software support period and the fact that it is missing from the list of eligible devices for the Android 17 upgrade.
Another similar problem can be seen with some Edge 50 models, as there are contradictory lists of compiled devices, including the Edge 50 Neo and Edge 50 Fusion.

Motorola’s Android 17 eligibility list is particularly noteworthy because it extends well beyond the Moto G family. Additionally, the company has expanded beta testing beyond its flagship models, including devices like the Moto G57 Power.
However, eligibility should not be confused with an imminent stable release. Motorola’s lower-cost devices are generally expected to receive the update later than its flagship Razr, Edge, and Signature models.

The premium Motorola Signature is also officially eligible for Android 17.

Motorola has not provided one universal date for every eligible phone. Its support documentation also warns that upgrade plans and timing can change and that software availability may vary by device, carrier, and region.
So if your phone appears in the list above but you haven’t received Android 17 yet, that does not necessarily mean your device has been dropped from the rollout.

Why Some Motorola Phones Are Missing From the List
The biggest question surrounding Motorola’s Android 17 eligibility list is not the number of supported phones. It is the devices that appear to be missing.
The Edge 60 Neo is one of the most frequently discussed examples. Other models from the Edge 50 generation have also caused confusion because their expected software-support commitments have led users to believe they should qualify for another major Android upgrade.
This is why we recommend separating Motorola’s officially published eligibility list from phones that are merely expected to receive Android 17 based on previous software promises.
Motorola’s support page itself states that its upgrade information represents current plans and is subject to change. It also notes that specific Android functionality can vary by device and manufacturer.
In other words, an omission today does not necessarily mean a phone will never receive Android 17. Motorola can update its support information as its rollout plans evolve.
When Will Motorola Phones Get Android 17?
Motorola’s Android 17 rollout is happening in stages.
Flagship products are naturally positioned toward the front of the queue, with the Edge 2025 and Signature already receiving stable builds. Newer Razr and Edge models are expected to follow as Motorola expands the rollout.
Older Edge devices should follow afterward, while many Moto G phones are likely to wait longer. The exact timing can vary considerably between countries and carriers.
This staged approach is important because being on the Motorola Android 17 eligible devices list does not mean the update is available immediately. Motorola has repeatedly indicated that availability can differ according to region, product, carrier, and other factors.
