The lock screen gets more flexible clock customization, while Xiaomi has redesigned the surrounding layout to make better use of available screen space. Some flagship phones can also display a glass effect around the clock.

According to Xiaomi’s laboratory testing, HyperOS 4 reduced the total time needed to launch 30 apps during a nine-hour usage test from 169.4 seconds on HyperOS 3 to 139.7 seconds. That represents a claimed 17.5% improvement. Xiaomi also reports a 28.9% reduction in skipped frames after long-term use.
These are Xiaomi’s own laboratory results, so real-world performance can vary depending on the device, software version, workload, and usage conditions.
Super XiaoAi 2.0 Brings More AI Features
AI gets an even bigger role in HyperOS 4 through Super XiaoAi 2.0, which Xiaomi says is powered by its MiMo large language model.
